How To Make A logo Icon Using A W Letter And A Custom Art Brush

In this tutorial you’ll read again about a simple but very efficient Adobe Illustrator feature used in the creation of a logo icon. I am sure that you have already read plenty of tutorials from where you have learnt how to make a custom art brush, which is used often for the creation of swirls . You will see that simple custom art brushes can help you not just on decorations and pattern designs, but also on logo design.Let’s be wild . Wild wild web then. Try to find a w letter which is a bit rounded and which looks fierce. Use your imagination. On my tutorial I used “Hobo” font because it reminds me of a ram. In case you don’t have it, you can use the “pen tool” and draw a similar shape using this model:

The W letter shows a lot of potential in many design purposes. It is one of my favorites. Now, make a mouth for w-ram becoming shape.

Your shape should be like this now:

The W look now more like a sheep because is no horns there. To make it, use “pen tool” and make a simple shape like in the following image. Select it and make a new art brush from it, using setting from screenshot.

Select “pencil” or “paintbrush tool” and using new created brush, draw shapes close to horns look. The “smooth tool” is doing a great job here.

Once you found the perfect shape, ungroup it and delete the path (line). duplicate it and transform / reflect one horn.

Place the horns in top of W brackets.

Be sure you make a proper alignment with top of W letter.
