Download the gradient swatches used in this tutorial:

1. Write the letters for logo monogram. I used for this tutorial the Vivaldi font. You can buy it from here.

2. Convert the the text to outlines (curves) and using the “knife” and “direct selection” tools make the letters like in following image.

3. Apply the “logo steel 1″ gradient swatch.

4. Apply a 60% transparency

5. This will be the very first layer of the logo.
